Connect Meta Ads

Authorise Meta, choose ad accounts, and understand why Meta is a spend-only source.

Meta (Facebook and Instagram) connects over OAuth against your business account. Once authorised you choose which ad accounts to sync.

Before you begin

  • A Facebook login with access to the Business Manager that owns the ad accounts.
  • At least the Analyst role on those ad accounts — read access is enough.

Connect the account

  1. 1

    Start the connection

Integrations → Meta Ads → Connect in the Revenue Sensor console.

  2. 2

    Approve in the popup

Meta's consent flow opens in a new window. Approve the ads-read permissions and make sure the businesses you care about are ticked on Meta's own account-selection screen — anything unticked there will not appear for you to select afterwards.

  3. 3

    Select ad accounts

Pick the ad accounts to sync. Each one becomes a card you can open for per-account detail.

Meta is a spend source, not a revenue source

Meta reports a conversion value for purchase events, but that value is attributed and often overlaps with what the store already reports. Counting it as revenue would double-count your income, so Revenue Sensor imports Meta as spend only.

Campaign-level detail

Meta exposes campaign-level reporting, so spend can be broken out below the ad account. Campaign tracking is opt-in per account and covers a rolling recent window rather than your full history.

Troubleshooting

  • An ad account is missing: re-run the connection and check the business selection step in Meta's popup — that screen controls what we are allowed to list.
  • The connection went red: Meta expires long-lived tokens periodically, and password changes invalidate them immediately. Reconnect from the card.
  • Spend does not match Ads Manager: check that both are in the same currency and the same time zone. Ad accounts report in their own time zone, which can shift a day's spend either side of midnight.
